Students will be engage in learning to create an artwork based on understanding the foundation of
batik painting by using oil pastel to act as resist and watercolour to blend the colours. In alignment
together with NACs mission which is to develop students potential for creativity and expression,
they will be expose to various mediums to ensure that they will be able to explore and experiment.
The theme Underwater Ornaments & Creatures will be integrated into the progressive lesson to
reinforce students in understanding how they will be able to relate their ideas to the artwork.
Over the years, Batik Painting has developed gradually into a modern art form. Through this programme, students will be able to understand the techniques of blending and oil pastel as a resist to recreate the artwork of Batik Painting. This programme is suitable for lower primary as
it will develop their understanding of Batik Painting from young.

The students will be guided to do a finished 2D artwork which will be able to enhance and beautify
the school campus.
